The premises of the Conference Hall of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce are located on the ground floor of the building in Resavska 13-15 and represent the largest room for conferences, seminars, and meetings of various kinds in this facility. The existing space of the Conference Hall became inadequate as a long time had passed since its original interior design, therefore requiring complete reconstruction and revitalization. The client’s wishes were to deviate as much as possible from the old solution and to make the space multifunctional and flexible. The proposed architectural and interior design concept did not completely depart from the old structure by superimposing a structural grid of beams and ceiling lanterns above the Conference Hall.

The square lantern shape was transferred to the vertical side walls of the hall in the grid (1.2×1.2m) and to the floor where granite ceramic tiles of the same dimensions were formed. To further emphasize three-dimensionality the walls ”played out” even in depth in three 15cm flat planes.
The materialization is minimized and subordinated to the focus on the stage itself and the overall dynamic impression. The dark floor is contrasted with white-painted walls and ceiling. The ambiance is further emphasized by direct (lantern on the ceiling, stage lighting) and indirect lighting (subtle diffuse lighting in the sidewall slots). The organization is adjusted to the multifunctional space itself (lectures, seminars, forums, debates, promotions) so the space is flexible and can easily be changed. The stage, the dressing room, and the furniture are all mobile and can be combined as needed depending on what is happening in the Conference Hall. Next to the hall is a press room and a recording room, separated from the hall by a glass sliding door. All doors are soundproof, with wood finishes. The suspended ceiling is monolithic and painted white. The lighting is super structured in a natural aluminum color. The capacity of the hall has been expanded to 270 seats.
